European projects

Florence City Administration is a lighthouse city in the  Lighthouse REPLICATE Horizon2020 project.

Details of the project can be found here:

Florence also participates in three Horizon2020 projects:

The Resolute project (RESilience management guidelines and Operationalization appLied to Urban Transport Environment) is a new European frontier for the development and sharing of sustainable public transport strategies able to withstand and react positively to the great pressures placed on the urban environment in modern European cities, without losing sight of ecological compatibility and natural constraints.
Resilience consists in the ability to respond flexibly and untraumatically to external pressures, without losing one’s structural dimension and functional characteristics.

Partners in the project are the University of Florence (coordinator), Thales, AttikoMetro (GR), Florence City Administration, the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (GR), the Fraunhofer Institute (DE), HUMANIST (FR), SWARCO Mizar (IT) and the Consorzio Milano Ricerche.

The main project activities include identification and classification of events that could block urban transport systems (natural disasters, terrorist attacks, system errors, etc.), the modelling of urban transport systems during adverse natural events, development of European Resilient Management Guidelines and the creation of game-based training apps and systems to teach operators and citizens good practice in the event of emergency.
